              FREE GAS/DIESEL FUEL SAVING TIPS

     Check and adjust tire pressures to manufacture spec. monthly

     Drive gently , avoid rapid acceleration . Racing from light to light is a big fuel waster ! Also take your foot off the gas when approaching traffic lights and coast towards it to avoid last minute breaking . Often while coasting toward the light you may not have to stop at all , saving momentum and fuel when the light turns green.

      Lighten your load . Excess weight = More fuel spent.
Most cars and trucks carry 100 lbs. or more of unessessary items . From golf clubs to old auto batteries . These items are costing you money every mile you carry them.
Tip :
     Only buy or fill up in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening , your gallon is not exactly a gallon. Service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
    When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to fill fast . You should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping fast , some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the storage tank so you're getting less for your money.

Fill up when your gas tank when it is half full. The more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates fast . Also if there is a gasoline truck pumping into tanks when you stop to buy gas, do not fill up , the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that settles on the bottom.
