Hello
My name is Miles Lay . I've spent approximately 25 yrs in the automotive field.I've also had experiences in the compressed gas industry in equipment maintenance and also as a reactor entry technician in various oil refineries.
Mainly , my passion lies with the auto industry.It started with my dad buying me my first car when I was 14. It came home on a tow truck and with my dad's advice and direction , I had it running and sold within months.
One of my first jobs was as a part time gas attendant .I knew at that time , this was the environment for me.I worked for this Texaco for almost 20 yrs on and off.From gas attendant to night manager and finally full time mechanic.The owner and I had become good friend and also he was a great mentor as well as as teacher.In his last 5 yrs as owner he permitted me lease the 3 bays and operate my own repair service.This was a great experience enhanced by his guidance.
In 98 I became certified for Engine Performance and Engine Controls.Also I was certified to be a NJ Automotive Inspector.
My last job , which ended due to economics, was as a Service Manager at an RV dealership.Over the last few years, many customers had been telling me they were shortening their trips and even cutting trips out completely due to rising fuel costs.
With that said , I took my curiosity to the web seeking solutions.Over the last couple years, I have found lots of strategies and gimmicks. More bad or even useless than good.
As an Engine Performance Specialist I have provided this site to expose the solutions I have found to be valid ,safe and affordable.I have decided to continue my passion for cars by helping people take action now to help reduce engine emissions and increase fuel economy and engine performance for the cars and trucks on the road today.
